DAY BY DAY: YOUR RESCUE DIVER TRAINING JOURNEY
The Rescue Diver course in Amed is hands-on, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. Here’s how your training unfolds:
Follow each step with your instructor in Amed, from your first skills in shallow water to open ocean dives and final PADI certification.
DAY 1
You’ll begin with knowledge development, either through PADI eLearning before your arrival in Bali or directly on-site with your instructor. In the water, you’ll review self-rescue techniques and start practicing key skills in Amed’s calm bay: recognizing and managing stress, assisting tired or panicked divers, controlling buoyancy in emergencies, and handling out-of-air situations. By the end of the day, you’ll already be more confident in preventing and responding to problems.
DAY 2
Your second day is dedicated to realistic rescue scenarios at Bali’s world-class dive sites. You’ll apply everything you’ve learned in challenging but safe simulations: searching for a missing diver, surfacing an unresponsive diver, performing tows, and coordinating rescue procedures with your instructor. Training often takes place in Jemeluk Bay for calm conditions or at the USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben for added realism.
Certification
After your final evaluation and review, you’ll officially earn your PADI Rescue Diver certification in Amed — an achievement that makes you a safer, more capable diver and prepares you for Divemaster training.

We spent 3 days diving with Dive Culture in Amed and had a great experience. The team was professional, very flexible, and made everything easy from start to finish. Amed is an incredible place to dive, but 3 days felt way too short to really see it all. Hope to be back soon with Dive Culture!
